Most all State organizations will provide support for those with Cerebral Palsy and other Disabilities within the County of the State.

But if the organization is only within the County such as County Health Departments, or has a local chapter based within the County, they will have the local link placed here. Names may be posted but keep in mind people change jobs or retire. The phone number is the more important item.

I have personally searched down to the county and in some cases to the school level. I would appreciate if any could send me links I do not have as I would like to provide comprehensive information of activities and events for the disabled as well as health organizations and advocacy groups.

This information is only as current as the last time I visited this subject and/or the last person to have sent me an update.

In 1990, changes to Public Law 94-142 arrived through the Education of the Handicapped Act Amendments of 1990 (Public Law 101-476). Most apparent was the law’s name change – instead of the Education of the Handicapped Act, it is now called the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. IDEA 2004

Dayton Days - An annual Memorial Day event features three days of Pari-Mutual horse racing as well as a parade, rodeos, dances and the Touchet River Fun Run.

All Wheels Weekend - Fathers Day Weekend in June Car Show, Dance, Contests, Demo Derby

Dayton's Summer Hoopla - On the second Saturday in July Dayton hosts an all day 3-on-3 basketball tournament played on our historic Main Street.

Alumni Weekend, Community Picnic and Community Yard Sale - On the third Saturday in July the Alumni gather in Dayton for class reunions, the Community Picnic and the ever popular Community Yard Sale.

Columbia County Fair - On the Second weekend of September area residents and visitors enjoy the three day Columbia County Fair. It features dances, demolition derby, barbecue and much more.

Depot Days Festival - Third weekend in September. On Saturday visit the depot to learn more about the history of the depot, view exhibits and take a tour or the oldest depot in the state.

Historic Home Tours - 2^nd Sunday In October. Includes touring of historical homes around the Dayton area.

Christmas Kickoff - Dayton heralds the Christmas season on Friday after Thanksgiving with a giant aerial fireworks display, visits with Santa, hayrides, and caroling at the lighted community tree in Flour Mill Park on Main Street
